Babbles

Just when I was thinking C was going to be late on his language - he took off!!! I didn't hear even the beginning of a babble until Fri night in the car - then it was Bababamamambabaagoo sounds all the way home! lol. He talked all weekend too! He also set a new personal sitting up record of about 2 minutes this weekend. Making progress! He loves eating, but not the "garden variety" of veggies. I've tried those like 3 times, and he spits them out every time.

Meanwhile, R has finished t-ball season. He is sad it is over and says he would rather play tball than soccer. I'm glad the season finished just as the really hot, humid weather is starting. Next up - swim lessons! School finishes this week, which makes me realize that summer is here! Eek!

6 months!

Time sure is flying!

C is 6 months and 1 week now. This kid loves to eat! They feed him breakfast and lunch at daycare, and then we try to do some at dinner as well. But he hasn't decreased his milk intake at all. But he has chunked up again - growth spurt! lol. He is getting so much stronger - sitting unsupported for up to a minute or so, but then turning like he's going to take off crawling. Much more motivated to move than his big brother was at this age. Also really likes toys, so maybe he's going to grow up to do something with his hands. lol. Who knows. Still waking 1-2 times per night for nursing, but goes to sleep well and is a very happy baby overall. Loves to cuddle with Mom though. He gives great hugs too. Very social baby.

R is still enjoying tball, but he's got stuff this summer that he's really looking forward to. Also getting to play with the boys across the street pretty often, so he really enjoys that. Playing with them is a bigger motivator for getting chores done than stars or toys or anything else. The older boy across the street is really into animals, and R is really into dinosaurs, so they have some pretty good converstations. R has also started bringing home his reading folder, so we have homework every night now. He is so excited about reading! I went to turn out his light last night and he was still up reading - in the near dark! lol.

Both boys crack me up daily. I really need to get on here more often to record what they say. For example, on the way to school this morning, R wanted to play "looking for animals". Then he pretended to be a "kikichu" or something, which was a small monkey who was nocturnal, loved pears, and dug underground. lol. Kinda odd, but very creative.

Well, that's it for now. Hopefully more to come soon.
